What is the company name research/search?

The Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) in India has a database of all registered companies. To search for a specific company, you can use the MCA’s “Master Data Search” feature on their website. This feature allows you to search for a company by its name, registration number, or CIN (Corporate Identification Number).

To perform a company name search, you will need to enter the name of the company you are searching for in the “Company Name” field. You can also use wildcard search, by using ‘%’ symbol before or after the company name. After entering the name, you will need to select the type of company (e.g. private limited, public limited, etc.) and click on the “Search” button.

The search results will display a list of companies that match the name you entered. You can then click on a specific company to view its detailed information, such as its registration number, CIN, and status (e.g. active, inactive, etc.).

It is important to note that the MCA’s database only includes information on companies that are registered with the MCA and that have fulfilled their statutory compliance. If the company you are searching for is not listed in the database, it may not be registered with the MCA or may not have fulfilled its compliance.
